Hi
We have a domain with 4 Windows 2003 DC's and all the clients are Windows XP. We use group policy to configure the proxy settngs for Internet Explorer and until last week this worked just fine. In one day we had 50 users complaining that they couldn't access the internet. It turned out that the 'use a proxy server' box was unchecked. Everything in group policy appeared ok and running the group policy results wizard for an affected PC showed that the box would be checked. Also when the applied policy was checked on the PC via the tools in Help it showed that this setting had been checked even though it wasn't. Running a gpupdate /force on an affected PC caused the box to be checked again!
We found that after the initial 50 out of 500 users being affected the problem disappeared again but yesterday we had a few more vanishing checkboxes.
We are completely mistified by what is happening and any suggestions will be gratefully received.
Cheers!
