I have a Windows Server 2003 Domain Controller and 50 XP client Machines. I'd like to create a group policy to require SOME of those systems to use passwords that meet the complexity requirement.

I created a new OU in AD Users and Computers then I did a right click on the newly created OU and selected "properties", I then clicked on "new" gave the policy a name and made the changes for passwords to meet the complexity requirement.

I then added a "test" user to that OU but when I login using an XP machine with that user account the policy does not take effect...I have used the refresh policy command with no luck....how can I make sure that the policy will take effect?? Please help me

YOu can't do this with Windows 2003. Password polices are defined at the domain level and you cannot have seperate password polices for OUs.

Granualr password polices are available with WIndows 2008

I see, so how can I link the policy that I created in the OU to the Domain Level?

Ummm, by linking it to that level in the GPMC, the same way you link it to an OU. Just to be clear you can only have one password policy in effect for a domain
