Hi, somehow automatic updates became enabled on a certain OU and I cannot figure out why so I was going to recreate the policy.

I created the policy in GPMC. I right clicked on the OU and selected "Create and Link a GPO Here...", Created a policy and edited it to disable automatic updates. Well the object computers within the OU I am working on seem to still have Automatic Updates grayed out.

One think I noticed is this... In the GP Editor, I go to Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components and Windows Update and edit Contifure Automatic Updates to Disabled. I notice on that particular window that this policy is "Supported on Windows Server 2003, XP SP1, 2000 SP3". Could this be why? If so, is there an update I can download?

Or if I am doing something completely wrong, please let me know. I have done this before which is why I am baffeled...

thanks!!
Steve

I figured it out. The couple of computers that weren't updating were on a bad switch. I thought it seemed weird that when I ran gpupdate /force it finished in under a second when it normally takes a second or two. Anyway we are fine. Thanks for reading.
