I was working for a company as a contractor and as part of my work for then had to log on to there network with my own personal laptop. I was given a domain account etc and duly logged on. Unfortunately the admin that created the account forgot to remove me from the general user group and into a user group where the server does not apply a group policy and so my laptop had the companies group policy imposed upon it. He has since removed me from the general users group but the remnants of the policy persists.
The problem is that now I don't have control of my own laptop even though I'm the Local Admin and I'm logging in to local only accounts. The firewall in particular is causing me problems. I have to turn the Windows firewall off when I work certain comm's software (for PLC's etc) but i cant as it is controlled by a group policy.
How do I remove the group policy and get control on MY laptop without completely rebuilding it.
Any ideas?
Thanks
