We have a W2K8R2 domain with XPSP3 clients. Each user has a 'home folder' directed to a network location as H:\. There's a GPO to redirect the My Documents folder based on group membership and using the setting 'Create a folder for each user under the root path'. The location of the My Documents redirection policy and the home folder are exactly the same.
This has been working perfectly until recently. Some new students in a new year group fail to get their My Documents redirected. Other students in the same year group, and therefore same AD group on which the GPO is based, has the redirection working fine. I've run gpudate /force to ensure that the GPO is applied (also restarted which would do the same thing).
Upon looking in to this I wonder why the GPO wasn't set to 'Redirect to the user's home directory' which may be a solution. But I wonder why it has stopped working for only a few users.
Any ideas?
