Group Policy and MSI packages

I have been deploying apps via GP and I would like to leave the GPOs as a perminant policy for future workstations that are added to the network. However if I do this, will this cause the applications to reinstall themselves on the existing computers everytime they are booted?

My concern is that if I have four different GPOs pushing installer packages I might have four different apps trying to reinstall themselves at the same time and cause the workstations to boot slowly.

Is it dependant on the MSI installer itself?
