I am having issues with my group policies not being applied to clients. I have a native Windows 2000 domain. I am recieving event 1000, error code 59 stating that the client is unable to locate a domain controller for the listed domain.

I have read some traffic on the blocking of ICMP traffic being the culprit. This is the case in our domain, but I am looking for specific documentation on this matter.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Yep-
ICMP is used for Slow Link Detection.

Your machines think they are connecting to their DC's via a dialup (or something very slow) so only portions of the policy will be applied.

Disabling ICMP is not a supported configuration, so get rid of your viruses ;)

Search the KB for 'Slow Link Detection' and 'ICMP'

Thanks, I found the information I needed under the slow link detection. Just needed documentation to fight for the ICMP traffic. Thanks for the info!!!!
