Hi,

Coming from a BCM background, I'm familiar with assigning an active set/phone to a pickup group, such as extensions 221 & 222 are configured as members of pickup group 1, and extensions 223 & 224 are configured as members of pickup group 2. These don't need to be hunt group members.

I have an IPO500v2, 6.0 software (not partner edition). What is the equivalent for IPO, and how do you configure it? I understand you can configure a pickup group button, however this only appears to work where the user is configured as a member of a huntgroup. Or is there no equivalent on an IPO, and you must configure the users as hunt group members for call pickup by group?

Looking at short code *53*N# I was wondering how you make extension/user 2001 for example a member of N (I hope this makes sense)?

Thanks in anticipation.

PS I have a training course end of this month. Cannot come soon enough!

Configure a button for pickup group or pickup members.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

IP office uses "Groups" they are not hunt groups or pick up groups but they can be used for both, you can assign a button to pick up from the group and as long as you don't target the group with calls they will not ring (or you can untick them), or you can have them ring and be able to pick up from, or have them just ring. Having seperate ways to programme huntgroups and pick up groups just isn't needed :)

Thanks. With the hints above, I configured it and understand it.

In addition to the above, a user can be a member of a group that is receiving calls, but they can have their membership set to disabled, so none of the calls alert their phone. This allows them to use functions like group pickup without actually receiving group calls.

& the N in the short code you mentioned means "Any Number of Digits"
it means a user can specify the group to pickup
for example to pickup group 500 you would dial *53*500#

System shortcodes are useful for users with pot's or phones without enough buttons.
