Has anyone else created the following? What I would like is a group pickup button that when pressed will pickup the operator phone, but that's it. I need 7 or so extensions with this button, but it would only pickup the operator's extension. Right now, I have it set up so that the 7 users and the operator are in the same group, well, what ends up happening, is if a phone call is ringing on a phone other than the operator and someone presses the pickup button, it picks the non-operator call up, which I do not want. Any suggestions? I've been looking at the Gpickup button and hopefully I'll be able to get it to work. Was so simple on an Avaya system. You could program a directed call pickup option and it worked beautifully. Thanks for the help in advance.

Use the direct call pick up feature instead of the pick up in the call manager and it will do the same as the AVAYA.

Actually there is no direct call pick up in call manager, only direct call park.
I don't know what I was thinking in the previous post.
My apologies.

What you can do is add the operator line on the 7 phones and they can just answer it that way. Not optimal but a work around for sure.

Which is what we use here at our office, line 1 would goto only the receptionist and ring 2 rings, then forward to line 2 which would be on all the other admins + receptionist...

Group pick up may be your only choice. If the other 7 phones are in one group, you can build another for the operator phone and add it to the first group. Then using group pick up, you would press the soft key and enter the number of the group only the operator console is in and that is all they would pick up.

Thank you very much for all your posts. I will try the last post and let you know how it works. If I have to revert to the added call appearance on their phones, I will. It's amazing how some of the simple things on Cisco is made to be so difficult in comparison to the Avaya system.
