Group Page and overhead loud speaker page at the same time?

We have an IPO 9.1 with a Bogen UTI1. Currently we're using an analog station configured as IVR (not sure why we're using IVR - don't by previous installer) connected to the UTI1 configured as station. We're able to page the phones and the overhead separately. I have a free trunk port was thinking of maybe converting the paging interface to a trunk and using vmpro to conference the trunk with the group page. Anyone ever done something like this?

You can't do trunk and phones at the same time, only station ports.
To page the phones and paging at the same time, it (the port) has to be setup as a paging speaker. The help in manager calls this "mixed paging".
Usually the UTI1 can be replaced with a isolating transformer; those units usually come with a WMT1A which is a line input/output 10k/600ohm transformer which would work in this case.

The analog port configuration you're using now, IVR, is still a RINGING analog station port. You call it, it rings, the UTI-1 answers the call, and connects the audio to the output. When the call ends, the IVR setting provides positive disconnect to the UTI to drop the call, so you don't have Intercom dial tone coming out over the speakers.

You need to set the analog port to Paging Speaker, AND put a 680-ohm resistor across Tip and Ring. connect to the "Trunk/Page Port" jack, set the switches to "VOX" and "PAGE PORT"

Now when you call the extension, or dial page to a group that includes the extension, the audio just comes out of the station port, and the VOX setting on the UTI responds to it, and can provide a contact closure downstream if needed, or switch BGM off during the page.
