Group not available

Hello

We are backing up a SQL Server DB. But lately the daily backup is failing. It's doing nothing and the next backup date isn't changing and there's nothing new added to the activity log. I setup a new job to run now using the wizard
but the error message returned "Group unavailable"
I put the scheduled backups on hold but there was no change.
Any help on this matter would be much appreciated.

Check the job is pointing to the correct destination. It may be that the tape drive has been moved to another device group - this is the group that the "group unavailable" message is referring to. If this is the case then either move it back or point the job to the new group.

It certainly seems like a hardware problem, with ARCserve losing touch with the tape device.
