ACS R6.0.0 processor with Voice messaging PC Card sixteen mailboxes (Large) What happens to an incoming call when the three call takers are busy with three incoming calls to a Hunt Group? The client would like the fourth caller to somehow go to Voice Mail. Will it ring default to extension 10 or can I set the transfer extension to another extension other than Extension 10.

calls to the huntgroup:
only one call can ring but you can answer as many calls (one by one) as you have members willing to pick up
calls to huntgroups do NOT cover to voicemail, once they ring they need to be answered or disconnected
If you want the incoming calls to cover to Vm that is possible, assign the line in #206 group 7 to make the voicemail answer, set the number of rings in #506 (1 for day and 2 for night delay)

one question bears in mind how do the calls get to the huntgroup in the first place?

so the auto attendant picks up then transfers to 71,72,73 or 74 in that case there will be no voicemail picking up any more, hate to tell you that, you could do it with a Partner Messaging and a loopback from an extension to a line port and then assign the extension as an Auto Attendant.

I installed the group. It rings indefinitily until some one answers. But if I depress the DND button on each extension the call will get a message saying to transfer to another extension please dial *8 or zero for the operator, if the operator does not answer then it goes to the operator/0/Extension 10's mailbox, which is good. If two of the three extensions in this group has their "DND depressed and the third extension in on the telephone than it goes to that extensions mailbox, which is good. I have heard that statement before about no voice mail coverage, but it appears their is.

that is really weird because it should not cover to Vm in any event if a hunt group is called, but maybe that is just a bug in the system. if all extensions are in DND then the Vm can't transfer to the group because it would get a busy signal internal so it just does what it always does when it gets confused it transfers to the operator or offers the *8 to transfer to a specific extension. If only one extension is available ( not DND but on a call) and you call the group that it goes to that extensions mailbox is definitely not what I thought would happen, but if you are OK with that and tweak it that all go into DND except the person that has the mailbox for it then you are good to go I guess.
