Hi,

I have a drill down report that groups bt Team Manager then by Day.

All I want is the detail labels only to appear when the data does.

I have tried putting the labels in different group headers, but to no avail.

How can I do this?

Have I made my self clear???? I do hope so.

Many thanks

Steven

In CR9 there is an in built function DrillDownGroupLevel, You can use this function to return which level of drill down is on screen.

You could create a detail label for each level of drill down and then conditionally suppress the labels depending on the level of drill down i.e.

//Only show labels on main report
DrillDownGroupLevel <> 0

//Only show labels on Team Manager Drill Down
DrillDownGroupLevel <> 1

etc...

Hope this helps Gary Parker

AAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I am using 8.5.

Any suggestions in this version?

I have been having similar frustrations...

You can resolve it to some extent by creating a second details section (--> sections A & B) and putting your detail headings in details A with your actual details in section B. Basically, lay it out like details A is your first group header.

Then, select each of the detail labels and conditionally suppress them "Not OnFirstRecord". Next, format the section (details A) to Suppress Blank Section in the Section Expert.

The biggest drawback to this approach that I have found is that if your detail records extend to more than one page, the new "detail labels" do not display at the top of subsequent pages. Haven't figured out a way to do this yet.
