Hi everyone,

I have a mitel 3300, I want like to know if it is possible to group a number of extensions together, so if some rings a group number it will ring all the extensions at once.

So far I tried a hunt group, but that seems find 1 extension device and rings just the 1 extension at a time. Which is not what I am after :(

I also tried programming a multi line button, so someone rings the group each extension rings but the users have to press a different button to answer the call, which confuses the users when they pickup the handset and nobody is there! They cant seem to grasp the idea of pushing the button to answer phone!

so does anyone have any better ideas.

Thanks,
Smiler

System: running 3300 ICP Call Control 37.0.7.14

With suite services you can ring multiple phones. This has issues if you are tracking LD as they will are report calls from the same number. It is also limited to 8 phones.

Multicall keys are limited to 32 appearances and in my mind the only way to go.

Firstly as you have found with setting groups on the Mitel you can not setup a collective ringing group - this i have been told will be available in rel 8 due out December.

Secondly do not use the suit option as this will totaly confuss your users, you are correct setting up the multi line keys - however within the extensions class of service you need to enable the ringing line select - this will then enable you to just pick the handpiece up and talk.

Hope this helps

I'll underscore Andy's suggestion. If the group size you need is 32 or less then do it with Multicall and enable Ringing Line Select in class of service.

With Ring Line Select the act of picking up the handset automatically selects the ringing line.
