I have 2 groups. Group1 is by Site and Type (ABC Active, ABC Matured). Group2 is by @state (alpha from a formula that converts from number). The report selection is all records and I have a group selection of greater than 31 days past due.
So, I get 82000 records but only 2000 or so display. I want the total balance for all records displayed or not displayed. I got this but I need to accumulate a balance and display it on the STATE footer for a total of the entire state (whether active or matured). I just can't seem to get the right combination of formulas to accomplish this.
The problem is that each site may have the same state or different states. The suppressed detail line didnt do it for me as discussed in a previous post. Everything seems to add up when printed and by the time it reaches the
second CA header, the totals are gone.
EX:
ABC ACTIVE
CA 1 2000
2 1000
Total Ca 3000
IA 1 3000
2 1000
Total IA 4000
Total Grp 7000
XYZ ACTIVE
CA 3 1000
4 1000
Total CA 2000 ** WHat I want here is TOTAL CA 5000
Total GRP 2000

ARe there any suggestions, Please?

looks to me that you want the total by state to not be reset when you enter a new group1

Why do you want this total updated every group2?

It would seem to me that you might keep track of the STATE totals for each Group 1 and present them in a report footer...is that what you want...then your existing formulas are ok....just need to add one more set Jim Broadbent

The user wants the STATE totals regardless of GROUP1.

also, 'one more set'? of formulas? YOu mean, create a
set of sum formulas for each state?

thanks.

and oops I had a typo in the example:
EX:
ABC ACTIVE
CA 1 2000
2 1000
Total Ca 3000
IA 1 3000
2 1000
Total IA 4000
Total Grp 7000
ABC MATURED
CA 3 1000
4 1000
Total CA 2000 ** WHat I want here is TOTAL CA 5000
Total GRP 2000
