Hi Everyone,
I have a report that I am trying to convert into a form. Since I can't group in a form I have a main form and a subform with each of the line records. I want to display the records the same way the report would, so in an ideal world I would set the main form to a continuous form and the next record would follow on from the previous one but Access doesn't allow you to have a continuous form with a subform inserted. This means for each main form record I have to move from page to page which is a nuisance if each subform only has 1 or two records. Does anyone have any ideas how I can make the form display "continuously" i.e. more like the report.

Many thanks in advance,

GPM

Thanks for that Aceman but I'm still hitting a problem. I'm working with a mainform/subform combination and when I try to change the main form to continuous it won't let me because it has a subform.

Is there any work around I can do to try to get this to work?

Thanks

According to your latest post it appears your mainform/subForm are linked via [blue]Master/Child[/blue] Link properties. If this is true perform the following:
[ol][li]Change the [blue]Link Master Fields[/blue] property to:
Code:
[blue]Forms![[purple][B][I]YourMainFormName[/I][/B][/purple]]![purple][B][I][YourLinkFieldName][/I][/B][/purple][/blue]
[/li]
[li]Move the subform to the [blue]footer area[/blue]. Note: for a continuous mainform you can't have the subform in the [blue]Detail[/blue] area.[/li]
[li]Closeup the detail area to a single line.[/li]
[li]For the mainform set the [blue]Default View[/blue] property to [purple]Continuous Forms[/purple].[/li]
[li]Perform your testing ...[/li][/ol]
[blue]Your thoughts? . . .[/blue]

Thanks for that Aceman, I feel like we are getting closer. This does show one main record and the associated subrecords but it only shows one main record per page. I was hoping to show the next main record after the subrecords of the previous record i.e.

Record1 Field1 Field 2 Field 3
Subrecord1 subField1 subfield2 subField3
Subrecord2 subField1 subfield2 subField3
Subrecord3 subField1 subfield2 subField3

Record2 Field1 Field 2 Field 3
Subrecord4 subField1 subfield2 subField3

Record3 Field1 Field 2 Field 3
Subrecord5 subField1 subfield2 subField3
Subrecord6 subField1 subfield2 subField3

etc.

I may be asking the impossible but is there any way to do this so that you can just scroll down the page to see each of the records/sub records.

thanks for your help with this,

GPM
