I have a what would appear to be a simple report. There is one group (a key indicator)and the details section has 5 subsections which contain sub reports. In the group footer, I have placed a date and some notes. When I preview the report, the group footer ends up on its own page for some records (there is plenty of room on the previous page). I can work around this by adding a sixth detail section, but I am wondering why this group footer ends up on the next page. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It could be the size of the subreport objects.
Subreport objects can set to various widths and heights in the main report. If the height set in the main report is about 1", and the subreport only is .5" high, then it will still consume 1" on the main report. On the other hand, if the subreport is 2" long when it prints, the subreport object in the main report will extend from 1" to 2", and consume 2" on the main report.
To avoid wasting space, a good practice is to format subreport objects with minimum heights, cause they will always grow to the size needed, but they will never shrink.
I don't know if this is the problem, but it could be.
