CR 10 - i made a group total of , let's say, group 1. Now, it works very fine when i place the total at my groupFOOTER but my client wants to see it at my groupHEADER. When i drag the total to my group header, the result is wrong... What can i do?

You could suppress the Group Header and format the Group Footer to look like a header. Eg:

GH1 - Group is "Spares" --- this could be suppressed
Detail
GF1 - Group is "Spares" and we have sold 10 wheels

If you are going to be using drilldown and want to use the group header then there is a function called DrillDownGroupLevel that is available from CR9 onwards that would help. Are you able to provide a bit more information about how your report looks and any drilldown functionality required?

Are you using a summary total or a running total? A summary total is based directly on the record data, and so is known at the start of the group. A running total 'runs' as the lines are printed, will allow a selection formula but is not fully known till the group footer is reached.

Right-click on a field and choose Insert to get a choice of Running Total, Summary and Grand Total.

If you can't do a summary total, that's a problem. You could make the group footer look like the header: it depends on what the report needs to show.
