I am having trouble with an overflow. I have a site where one of the options is ringing calling group 773. If the group 773 does not answer we want it to go to the operator. i have setup another calling group of 775 and added the operator extn of 400 to it. I have set the overflow of 773 to go to 775. I have set the number based overflow to 99 and the time based overflow to 18 however it just continues to ring the extns in the 773 group. Any idea why it is not ringing the 775 group after the 18 seconds? I used to have it set to 1 for the number and time based and it will ring to the operator as long as all the extns were in use or on DND.

when you program it go into the time based overflow and set the time after that just get out of programming, if you go then into teh number based overflow then you will set it to number based and the time based will not work.
I am not sure actually if that is in the manual but I had the problem in the past and learned to only go into the option I need.

i tried going into the overflow and setting the time to 15 and getting out, no cigar. i noticed she had x 400 forwarded so i tried undoing that, no cigar. ended up putting secondary coverage buttons for the 3 extns in 773 on her phone.

As long as the call is ringing a telephone in calling group 773, the call will not overflow to 775. All members of 773 would have to be logged out. In order for that to happen the group would need to be set for auto-logout...and depending on how many members you have in the group, that could take some time to logout all those members. Cover buttons are the way to go, just remembers you can only have 8 buttons assigned for an extension.

that makes perfect sense. Thanks. they aren't using agent ID's so I'm not even sure how they would log back in.
