group by quarter

Can anyone tell me how to make by report (shipped orders, last full year, grouped by product catagory, summed $$ by catagory) show by quarter? I am guessing I would need to some how create a group for quarters them group by the product code? I have to have only one report (it will be published in pdf)that shows Last years shipments broken down by quarter, then each catagories sum.
Q1(Machines$$/Parts$$/Service$$)
Q2(Machines$$/Parts$$/Service$$)
Q3(Machines$$/Parts$$/Service$$)
Q4(Machines$$/Parts$$/Service$$)
