I am loosing faith in documentation. I need to create a series of groups in our system. I understand how to control access through the distribution lists but what I cannot find any where is directions on how to set up the group. All I can find is setting up a personal address book. The second problem is that I do not want to enter the user names one at a time. I would like to pick them out of an existing "everyone" type of group. I need to set up 5 shared groups within our common already shared address book.

I also have one address group I will have to enter manually as the receivers do not exist in our current GroupWise environment. This group will consist of a collection of external addresses and needs to appear in our existing shared address book. (The Admin Department needs to be able to send email to the student's parents) I'm hoping I can control access through the distribution list for that group.

We are using Novell 5, GroupWise 5.5, in a 6 server environment. One of the servers has been set up as the GroupWise email server. Everything works off the same PO.

Maybe this is an easy one but I have been stumped for about a week now. Any suggestions, and help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Are you referring to creating a group in a user's address book or creating a dist. list in nwadmin?

We have an address book that includes all personnel in the school. Within that address book I need to create groups for selected users to access. For example I would need to create a Science Department group. That way the principle can send one email to the entire department. Or, a science teacher can send one email to all the science department members.

The problem has been solved. When you have a community address book already set up then the new groups are added within NDS. They are handled as new distribution groups out of your PO. Thanks to everyone who responded.
