Ground Start to loop Start change - voice mail problems

Hello,

Merlin Legend V7. We switched the 4 lines on our 408 GS/LS card to loop start from ground start. We always used ground start on this card. We have one other line on a 800 GS/LS that has always been loop start. The phone company realized that we were not being charged for ground start so instead of paying the extra $600yr We switched over the loop start hoping it would work ok.

Everything seems to work OK except we have been getting a lot of blank messages (actually sounds like a busy signal) in peoples Merlin voice mail. Seems like the system is not recognizing the hang up and recording the line.(???) The users are getting good voice mails also.


Can the loop start cause this problem or is something else going on.

Turn on Loop Start Reliable Disconnect, found in the Lines/Trunks menu. If that doesn't do it, contact the telco and ask them to also provide Cutoff on Disconnect.
 
Did you change the programming in the pbx from ground start to loop start for those ports as well?
 
Yes, Did that first. I have not had a complaint since turning on Loop Start Reliable Disconnect. (knock on wood)
