I am using one dialog for input and display. I want to make buttons visable or invisable based on whether or not I'm doing input or display.

The panel the buttons are placed in/on is part of the whole dialogs Gridbag layout.

Anyway, when I make buttons I don't want to see invisable the ones I want slide over to the left part of the button panel. I've tried using a blank panel instead of a button based on the condition.

How can I keep the buttons in the cells where I put them?
