You can quite easily modify the Grid DTC code to display a message when the recordset is empty.
However, the grid DTC is not too good with empty blank rows - ie the one created with the recordset.AddRecord. It is a bit tricky to get it to be editable at all!
Your best bet is to identify if the recordset is empty, and manually 'show' some data entry fields.
