Grey Print in Office OS X

All,
On a laptop IBook, OS10.3, using Macrosoft Office X when we print on our HP Laserjet, we get a grey print. All other apps, all other computers (connected by ethernet) get black. Have uninstalled and reinstalled Office without luck. Would like to print in black.
any ideas?

Any chance your print settings are set to "draft" or "economy mode" or similar?

Generally, I get grey print outs when I set the printer preferences to save toner.

Reinstall the printer, and manually select it instead of letting the printer utility do it automatically. The panther upgrade had the grayed out effect on some HP printers.
