We are having "screen update" issues in our Metaframe 1.8 environment. I have read that if you degrade the color depth or resolution of the desktop, it would improve the latency or screen update issue.
Having said that, our users won't like when they have to browse the internet with a 256 color desktop configuration(I can't blame them either).

How about if you improve the video card, will this have any affect on screen updates on the client side? It will be able to process fast...I am assuming, if its a real nice or top of the line card.

Any info would be appreciated.

MF 1.8 w/sp3, Win2k server w/sp2.

Thanks

I guess the answer is "possibly".

It really depends on several things;

1) How poor the existing client graphics cards are.
2) Where IE is storing its temporary files.
3) The speed of your connection to the MF server.
4) Number of users on the MF servers.
5) Other traffic on the network.

Try it :)
