Is there way to find dictionaries in great plains for reports.

Could you explain further what you mean?

The location of the reports dictionary is pointed to by the path in the DYNAMICS.SET Launch file. Note that the paths are generic pathnames and are meant to have a colon before and after the drive letter, no root slash and use forward slashes.

If you are looking for sample reports, there is a reports library that you can download from on CustomerSource or PartnerSource.

Actually I am looking for script and tables fields and tables names used to generate reports. for example, I am making historical stock status report by location by GL DATE. I am really strugging to know the tables names and fields used in report because if I go to report writer, it shows temp as main table and legend for GL POSTING DATE. This legend moreover is not calculated field. if I go to dexsql.log, it does not shows how transactions are pulled by GL POSTING DATE and what fields they have used for gl posting date.

Any idea would be really help to me

There is probably dexterity code running to build the contents of the TEMP table. It would be that code that is checking the date range to use.

Legends are string fields passed to the report when the Dexterity code launches the report.

struggling through what field names are in which table can be fun at best --- I gave up on Report Writer LONG ago and switched for this type of report to Crystal.

Here is a link to a previous discussion about which table is which - I am sure that if you have this knowledge that you can find what you are looking for - if not - we are here.

Have a look at my FAQ entry on this site faq632-4746. I explains how to find what you need.
