We have a client who was advised to purchase his upgrade to Great Plains Pro version 8.0 with the SQL 2000 Runtime. We were assured that this would work on a peer to peer network using Windows XP Professional. Wrong! Further information indicated that the SQL 2000 Runtime required Windows 2003 Server to run on. We suggested to the client that they throw away the SQL 2000 Runtime and purchase the Full SQL product which could then be put onto the Windows XP Professional in a peer to peer arrangement and install Great Plains Pro version 8 in this environment. We need someone to verify that our suggestion is correct. Can anyone do that for us? Thanks in advance for your response.
