My company is running GPS 5.5 on SQL 7.0 SP#, W2K Server SP2 with Quad 3.2Ghz processors and 4GB memory and has 3 physical disks sets, OS RAID 0, tempdb RAID 0 and GPS Database RAID 5 on 9 disks, should be plenty of HP. We started a brand new GPS company in January, 0 transactions in DB. Now after 7 months Sales Posting has slowed to a crawl and runs anywhere from 2 1/2 to 5 hours a night about 900 invoices. Where back in January it took minutes. Our database is growing at 1.1 GB a month. We do posting a night when everyone is out of the system. We also run a maintenance plan weekly. Any suggestions out there, other than upgrading, we're exploring that option already.

Thanks,
Kent

Are you posting from the server or a workstation?

What is the Auto-grow set to on your database?

Not familar with SQL 7 SP3...is that the latest one?

Just trying to come up with some ideas.

The best thing would be to upgrade to GP 8 on SQL 2000. :)
