New spin, old song. There is a grain of truth to the arguement that consumers will seek the highest quality goods at the lowest price, independent of the origin of the goods. However, I see it as highly elitist to assume that the US is the "thought leader", the generator of new ideas and business. To counter this claim, I would point to rising debt. This shows that, if anything, we as a country are running out of new ideas and in fact are "the best" at accumulating debt.
