Hi all,

it's easy to convert a PMS illustration to greyscale in Illustrator.
But does anybody know how to convert a very complex grayscale vector illustration into a PMS color, including lines, gradients and shapes?
Maybe there is a quick way to do the job.

Greetz,
Funky

Select everything in your image, and group it. Then draw a shape (a rectangle for example) that covers everything completely. Change the fill of that shape to the PMS colour you want to use, and send it to back.

Next, select all, and get the transparency palette (Window > Transparency). In the palette's menu, make sure the following two items are checked:

New Opacity Masks are Clipping
New Opacity Masks are Inverted

Then, in the same menu, choose "Make Opacity Mask". That should do it...

THNX man (or woman of course) for you wisdom!!!
It workes perfectly!
This saves me a lot of time.

Thnx again and greetz,
Funky.
