I have a number of pictures, originally color, changed to greyscale that I'm "placing" in a pm65 document. after placing, they pictures look of very poor resolution. this seems somewhat random. some of the converted pics look fine, some don't. not sure why. all are originally 300dpi .tifs that I have greyscaled.

any thoughts on what's happening here?

the pictures are embedded in the document and are either 100% of original pic size.

thanx

How have you set your PM preferences to display graphics? The default in PM is a low-rez version to save time and memory when redrawing, while moving through the pages. Changing the display preferences to high-rez may make quite a bit of difference.

Do the images print OK? If so, leave the display set to low-rez and the document will be more responsive.

Why have you embedded the graphics in PM? It is far better to link rather than embed - it is easier to handle the document (as file size reamins smaller) and there is less likelihood of document corruption due to a 'bad' graphic.
