I have just upgraded my desktop PC from Win98SE to Win2k sucessfully with the exception of one problem. Once the machine boots up, I get my usual color display for about 10 seconds, then the color on the monitor goes to grayscale. I made sure I have/had the lastest drivers for my display and video card, but still no luck solving the problem. Any recommendations or troubleshooting for getting the display in color again would be appreciated.

Here are my system specs:

Micron Millennia
500MHz, 8GB HD, 256MB RAM, Win 2k +SP2 installed
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 570V TFT (Flat Panel)
Video card: nVidia Riva 128/128ZX, Chip type: NV3T

Also, if this question is not appropriate for this forum and should be posted elsewhere, please let me know!

Thanks

Try reducing the frequency if it as perhaps 75Hz, try reducing it to 65Hz

Reducing the frequency was one of the things I tried. No luck. It just made the screen completely black.

Thanks.

Your monitor profile needs to be updated. This is particularly common if using the Adobe GAMMA utility, but in any case update the Monitor profile/driver.

If using Adobe GAMMA, re-run to create a new profile.
