We are in the process or replacing Cisco firewalls with Checkpoint Firewalls. Because of the way the Checkpoint firewall fails over to backup our network team is asking me if any of the Avaya equipment connected to the firewall has any issues with Gratuitous ARP cache requests. They mentioned that they have had other installs where VAL boards did not respond to the request and were not available on the network for up to 10 minutes after the ARP cache Request. I just need to determine if any of the other PBX components have potential issues and if there is any workaround for issues with the VAL.
