I have a report in which I have made a table graph with a target line. For instance I have from April - July the avg MTTR in a column graph and I have a target line going across. How show i show the trend from April - June?

No....I have not done this in MS ACCESS. I created the charts in Excel. I have the average MTTR graphed as well as the SLA Target. Now my boss wants to see a trend line added. is it possible to add that in a formatted graph? In this case I am using a 2 axis column graph.

Ok, so this is in Excel. The term "I have a report" suggested this was Access since there are no report objects in Excel.

What did you try regarding a trend line? Did you search Help or right-click the data series? Did you look through various property dialogs?

Yes...on the graphs I created I did click on Series then a box poped up and then I selected ADD TRENDLINE. When I selected a trend line it did not exactly trend the data like I hoped. Any suggestions??

Create a column or row in your chart source data TABLE, that represents your MTTR value -- SAME VALUE IN EACH CELL.

Select the chart.

Right click and select Source Data

ADD a series and reference the new data range in your chart source data table.

Select that new series and change the chart type to LINE.

When did you add the trend line?

The current trend line looks ok to me. If it doesn't to you, then either live with it or tell us what you don't like about it. We aren't mind readers.

Please tell us what you are working with, what you tried, what your results were, what you don't like about your results, what you want to change, how you want to change it, ...

Skip/dhookom:

I have my desried column chart on 1 axis and my target on another axis. I was asked if I could add a trending line into it. When I followed your instructions the trending line was not coming out the way I would like for it to come. So I may be out of luck unless I take out the coulmn and replace it with a line. Your thoughts..

Sorry, I meant to say...
Create a column or row in your chart source data TABLE, that represents your MTTRTARGET value -- SAME VALUE IN EACH CELL.
...and that is the SAME value in each cell IF the target remains unchanged for the plotted duration.
