Hi. I've used Delphi for a number of years and have now been asked to do projects in VB.net.

I can't seem to even do a simple task like creating a graph with a standard VCL component. Does such a component exist? How do you do graphs in VB.net . Also a simple non data aware grid doesn't seem to exist!! Please help anyone.

Thanks

.net has no native graph control, you will have to look on the internet for a third party one.

I would suggest you download the vb.net resource kit and install componentone or dundas, componentone has a simple graph control and dundas is dedicated (I never worked with either of them)

and alot of people have trouble with non data aware datagrids (if you take a little look in the other threads you'll see what I mean) you will also need to look for a third party one, and it just happens that componentone has a flexgrid in it.

I know I keep mentioning componentone, no I don't have shares in the company. It's just that its free, but its far from perfect. If you want better components you will have to look for them and pay for them.

Another solution is to use the Office Web Components. I use those because of the watermark that the dundas chart on the resouce kit gave me.

but there are licensing issues with the office web components. Every client needs to have office and even then the correct version.

and they are activeX.
