hi expert/s,

i encountered a problem with my DEC-UNIX box. after i rebooted the system it gives me a blank screen and stayed there. i tried to reboot again - it's still the same. i move the adapter card to a another port physically, then successfully can log in but not in a graphics (X win) mode instead - to an acsii/text/prompt.

any idea how to get back to the graphics screen/display/mode? (was it like runninf xinit?)

any suggestions where i can surf for a nice digital-unix site for documentation & references. i've noticed compaq site's not a good one. basically, it will feed you to death the tru64 unix stuff.

To start X enter: "/sbin/init.d/xlogin start"
Settings like resolution and refresh rate you can enter in /etc/dt/config/Xservers, last line in this file.
If this file does not exist you can copy it from /usr/dt/config/Xservers. Find the approriate settings from your monitor.

How to change X-window resolution and color depth?

Good luck, greetings

Andrero
