Hi, i am trying to include in my application a graphic with several data series. According to an internet sample ( i have reached to draw only one serie. The example shows two series (from a crossed references query put in the property rowsource of a OLEUnbound) but both with the same X values (so only Y values are different).

I have to show three series with different both X and Y values in all of them.

Is that possible with this kind of graphic? Is there another way of obtaining this result?

Thanks for looking.

Try playing around with the MS Chart control in the toolbox (click on "more tools"). It isn't well documented in Access help, but there are tons of code sanples on the 'net to search thru.

Hi,

"...both with the same X values (so only Y values are different)."

Is that by design or do you have a separate set of x-y values for each series. You have to load them that way.

Thank you for your post.

genomon, i am using the 2000 version of Access, i think it doesn't have this possibility, at least in the tool bar. The help doesn't say anything about, indeed.

Nevertheless i have searched in 'inet for MS Chart and haven't found any usefull result, can you just paste if you have some link below?

SkipVought, not by design but i have a separate set of XY values in different data series. I have tried with a crossed references query to a OLEUnbound object according to the sample i found like said before, and also by writing the query-based SQL statement in the field RowSource of the OLEUnbound object properties. I have tried several ways and by now i believe that it's not possible to draw more than an unique X data serie, and all other data series (rest of X and all Y series) is drawn like Y values.

Can you paste any reference to that possibility, if it exists, of drawing a scatter chart with several data series with different both X and Y values all of them?

Open the toolbox in design view. Click on the icon with the ellipsis(...) to get "more tools". Scroll down to "Microsoft Chart Control". Click on it - hold down the mouse button and drag it to your form or report. Then it gets interesting. Since it's your first one you will probably want to make sure that the wizard is activated (magic wand in the upper right corner of the toolbox).
Good luck!

Thanks, i have inserted a CtrlActiveX in a form from this tool, but is a ctrl without fields like RowSource or controlSource, .. i have searched for documentation about MS Office Chart but i have found nothing by the moment.

Can you paste a link or perhaps some help?

Drag the control to your form as mentioned above. Double-click it to activate design mode. Click on "help"....

Nothing about how to use MS Office Graph in the help, in fact the control inserted like above is different that the one inserted from Insert>Object>Chart of Microsoft Graph 2000.

Thanks, then perhaps i'll have to leave one chart for each data serie.
