Hi,

I have noticed a problem with the graphical layout of my dialogs appearing differently on different machines. The bitmaps and static text literals are displayed as varying sizes, meaning they don't always fit into their controls. This does not seems to be operating-system dependent, nor screen-resolution related. Could it be to do with graphics chipsets on the PCs ?

Whatever, I'd be pleased to hear if someone else who has experienced it has a solution.

Regards,

It's probably got more to do with how the user has his/her 'appearance' settings set up. If the user specifies a different font other than the standard then this can enlarge/reduce the static items and do weird things to the layout. Unfortunately, there's only one way to ensure your stuff looks the same on every single machine - draw them manually to the device context using the font you specify.
However, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If the user has changed the settings to use some weird fonts, all his/her dialogs, etc are going to look awful.
