Hello Tek Tips Memebers

I need to view two different things from my PC at the same time. I have been advised to buy a graphics card with dual output.

Does anyone advise any other way of doing this?
or
What graphics card shall I go for keeping in mind I want to spend as little as possible?

Thanks

Yes, then purchase a GFX card with either Dual Head (usually Matrox) or Dual output (ATI,S3, nVidia...)...

With the Matrox, you can only hook up a second Monitor, as the secondary output is a true VGA jack...

on the others, well, depending on the card, you can hook up TFT's, LCD's, Monitors, and/or TV's as secondary Display...

Good Luck

If it works don't fix it! If it doesn't use a sledgehammer...

Any cheap graphics card with dual outputs should suffice. nVidia's current drivers let you use two displays in several different ways - either displaying your desktop spread over two monitors or having the same picture on both. You probably want the first option.

It doesn't have to be a current card - my old GeForce 4 MX440 had three outputs if you include the TV-out. They cost next to nothing nowadays.

Having said that, you can "view two different things from your PC" on one monitor - just have two windows side-by-side.
