Graphical Site to Text Site

Does anyone know of an efficient way to provide an alternative text based or low-tech version of your site, without writing the entire site again just in text? Similar to what the BBC use, and other such large sites.

Well the best way is to just write the site in text-based format.
You don't need to write the entire site in text, just the most important or essential parts. For everything else, have a search engine on the text-based version so they can search for other stuff that is not mentioned... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...
