Graphical Components ??

I need to be able to put some graphical components on a frame (or panel) that can be placed by the user. Can I use a graphic image that is not square and that can have event listeners (so they can be moved around). Any ideas would be most welcome.

I am not sure what you are trying to do, but you can draw many different shapes with the Graphic and Graphic2D API. There are plenty of event listeners also available for mouse usage. Check out the MouseListener and MouseMotionListener classes. They me be a starting place for you.
