graphic file upload script

I am trying to write a very simple file upload for graphics, I am using the "enctype= multipart/form-data" and the action is a "mailto:myemail@mydomain.com". The text files come in fine, but the graphics files ALL come in CORRUPTED. what am I missing here? thank you.
