Can anyone recommend a good Windows tool for converting an animated GIF to a MPEG file?
Jeff

I haven't lost my mind - I know it's backed up on tape somewhere ....

I'm sure you have a good reason, but I'm having a hard time even imagining why you would do that?

This particular animation should never have been done as a GIF in the first place. Our site is hosted by our parent company and their webmasters are requiring that all animations be MPEG, so I don't have a choice anyway. The only animation tool I have is JASC Animation Shop 3 which can import MPEG but cannot save in that format. Just looking for something that will do one simple, stupid conversion.

eeeeeee nothing that I know of. That's just not a conversion that has high demand you know!? Have you looked at something like Premiere? Good luck finding something! Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!

Found my own solution. Program called ProMedia from Digisoft. Downloadable for 14 day trial or purchase at Only $40.00. Handled the GIF to MPEG1 conversion like a charm. Looks like a pretty good tool for a number of animation tasks and the price can't be beat.
