I'm sure my questions are elementary for you DB2 pros, but I (as an Oracle DBA) had responsibility for a DB2 database installation dumped into my lap recently and I want to ensure that I am using the correct commands the first time since the target db is a production environment.

I have a non-DBA user "A" that must issue "DROP TABLE <tablename>" on database "B", schema "C". Could someone please confirm for me:

1) What permission(s) must user "A" have to accomplish such a DROP, and
2) Once user "A" has the correct privileges, what is the correct qualification syntax in the "DROP TABLE..." command?

Thanks,

db2 grant dropin on schema db1schema to mufasa

db2 drop table db1schema.tablename

You could also consider giving them dbadm.

Cheers
Greg
