grant user access to dbcc opentran

If I am reading BOL correctly, they have to be sysadmin or dbo. AFAIK, you can't grant permission for DBCC. Good luck!

Permissions
DBCC OPENTRAN permissions default to members of the sysadmin fixed server role or the db_owner fixed database role, and are not transferable.

JohnDTampaBay,

I figured it out, in order to allow a user to use DBCC OPENTRAN on a database the user must be granted db_owner permission on the database.

This applies to all databases, Master, Tempdb, and User databases....

And you are correct you cannot grant permission for just the DBCC.

Thanks
