Hi,

This is the first time I am using shared variables to send data from a subreport to the main report. I have read some of the threads related to this which have helped to accomplish this. I do not have any difficulty bringing the information back to the main report and using the information in another formula field, but I haven't figured out how to obtain a grand total from the secondary formula field which is using this information.

I have tried to create running field and also a regular formula field to accomplish this but in the running field I am not able to select the shared variables or the formula using them. When I try a regular field - I don't get accumlating total but just the order total and this was accomplished with the WhilePrintingRecords.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Suzanne

You need a "manual" running total to do this, so that you can accumulate the values as they go by. See the FAQ on running totals in the FAQ area of this forum and use the "3 formula" technique.

Of course, you won't need the reset formula since you are using a grand total. Ken Hamady
