Gradient with Picture

How do I turn a pciture into a grdient where it gets lighter and lighter. Or vice versa.

Using photoshop.

Fireworks doesn't do gradients

But you can do it in flash, or using Java. There are some free reosurcves at

that do this.

You can create a rectangle (or any shape), with a gradient fill. Place this on top of your picture, then group as mask. This will have your picture with a gradient effect.
