I have expanded a stroke i built and i want the gradient to follow the path. instead of just looking like a cutout over the top of a gradient going in one direction.

There are a couple ways to do this, you can either create a blend, or you can do it using the gradient mesh tool.

Check this out, It should help you a lot:

Hello,..
i'm Jeff and was happy to find this impressive forum. I'm hoping someone might please tell me how to write an Illustrator Script that will change the position of a Gradient Mesh Point? I have an idea how to do the same to Anchor Points using Visual Basic or AIJavaScript code like "SET", "Illustrator.PathPoint" and "LeftDirection, RightDirection" but see no indication that these functions work on Gradient Mesh Points (or wether Illustrator accesses mesh points the same as anchor points). For meshes all i've found is "Illustrator.meshItem.position" OR "transformFillGradients" but i'm not sure wether these will move the Mesh Point or ENTIRE mesh.
Thanks much for any suggestions, references or tips and pointers you've time to give.
