Gradient fills on multiple objects?? 1

I set a line of type and converted it to outline. I put a large box behind the type and filled with a gradient fill. How can I select all the outlined type at once and fill with gradient? It only allows me to do one letter at a time??

Fill your outlined text with the gradient. Then, with the text still selected, click on the gradient tool in the toolbox. You can now drag the direction and extent of the gradient over all your letters.
